Posts between Panels

Japanese fence systems have two options for post placement. Posts can either be placed behind the fence panels or, as in this example, in-between the panels. While all posts look the same for the “Behind” option, the “In-between” is more complicated. Here we must plan for End-posts, Middle-posts, and Corner-posts.

When “stepping up” end-posts are needed.

Here is a look from inside. The in-between posts reveal a nice, clean look from both sides.

For this stretch of fence, each of the 6 individual panels had to be shortened to create this look.
