Our high-tech aluminum garden gates can swing inwards, like in this example, or outward, depending on your choice. Hinges will always be installed on the backside for security. If the panel needs to swing outward, an additional aluminum extender is used. Here is an example.

You can decide which panel of a double gate opens first as the main panel. The secondary panel is locked down to the ground. When any gate panel is open, a lockdown stick can be released to secure the panel to the ground.

The handles on this gate for the side yard are push-pull handles. This means you can operate them with your elbows when bringing in your groceries. However, if it's locked, you will still need the key or, in this case, flip the thumb turn from the inside.

The thumb-turns available on all our Japanese aluminum pedestrian gates have been very popular with our American customers. They eliminate the need for keys for most customers, as homeowners usually access their side-yard gates from the inside to take out the trash, etc.
