Cover for Barbecue
This MLR port provides the perfect shelter for a deck-side barbecue area next to the pool. Keeping the post only on the outside keeps the deck and party space clear of obstructions. MLR-R51.22-H28 BBQ
The MLR aluminum carport system stands apart from other carport styles from Japan because it creates the roof slope with risers. The standard MLR roof slope drains rain to the post side. Using the risers in reverse position gives us the option to slope toward the outside edge of the cantilever roof, as shown in the project above. The gutter is now on this outside edge, and the downspout can direct rain to any location, most often along the cross-beam back to the post and down.
Tilting the roof this way can increase coverage and provide better shade for the BBQ area. To see more examples of this innovative Japanese carport, visit the featured projects at the bottom of our MLR Carports Page.
