Square Style Gate

The modern Japanese aluminum outdoor gates come in many stylish panel styles to choose from. One of the more unusual gate panel styles is the squared profile panel. MCE gates feature this style as the MCE-TY. The images below are actually of a MEX gate, the predecessor of the MCE gates, but it has the same look and detail.

Here you see what we call a 1-1/2-gate. You can fit any Japanese aluminum profile double gate like this, so you can have a larger panel you use daily and a smaller panel that stays locked and opens only when very large items need to come through.

This inside view shows the different parts of this modern gate. The hinges are attached to the back of the post and can be adjusted in four directions. You can clearly see the double push-pull handle with a thumb turn.

A thumb turn is a mechanism that eliminates the need for a key. Locking and unlocking are super convenient with this thumb turn. However, you have to keep in mind that on a low gate like this, anyone who knows about it can conceivably reach over to open this gate. This customer decided that his convenience is more important than the threat of someone knowing what is behind the gate.

Here you see the main moving gate panel in the open position, locked down to the ground. The lockdown stick is stored inside the panel and is released when needed.
