Custom-fitting a Cover to a Site

Japanese patio covers are made of aluminum profiles that are screwed together rather than welded. This means that you can fit any individual profile. Above, you can see a deck cover that was expertly shortened around an unusually shaped corner. Here is a link to many such custom-fitted projects.

Roof-shape and Post-detail

Japanese aluminum covers come in 5 variations, with either a rounded or straight roof shape, and with posts either at the outer edge or recessed with a bearing beam to comply with setback regulations, to protect a banister, or just for looks.

The style of a Japanese patio cover is evident in the name. Here is what the above TFMA spells out: TF (for straight) M (for posts at the recessed bearing beam that holds the front end of the roof.
