Accordion Gate with Casters

Typical Japanese accordion gate rolls on casters. As the name suggests, it expands and contracts like an accordion. The weight of the metal gate is supported by the casters, so the posts mainly hold the gate in place. In addition, you can add a ground track to secure the gate even better.

For this specific project, the accordion gate can only collapse into a neat stack. However, it cannot be swung out of the way because of a stairwell directly behind it, and swinging it out into a public street is not allowed.

This is a residential-style accordion gate that works well at this commercial location, where the offices are closed at night. The accordion-type gate protects the location from the nightlife in Waikiki.
